Executive Order No. 64 s. 2024
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES
EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 64 s. 2024
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has signed Executive Order No. 64, authorizing salary increases and an additional medical allowance for government workers. Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin signed the order on August 2, 2024, by the President’s authority. The EO, which takes effect immediately upon its publication, responds to economic challenges such as inflation by updating the salaries and benefits of government personnel to ensure a skilled and committed workforce.
The salary adjustments apply to civilian employees across all branches of government, including those in Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) and Local Government Units (LGUs). The salary schedule will be implemented in four tranches starting on January 1, 2024, and continuing annually until 2027. Additionally, eligible government workers will receive an annual medical allowance of PHP 7,000 to support health maintenance.
The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) will issue guidelines for the order’s implementation. The full details of EO 64 are available in the Official Gazette.
